Difference Between MLB season and JBL season

In the Japanese league, there are about 145 games in the regular season. In the Major Leagues, there are 162. Also their playoffs are a little shorter. They end in October, whereas the Major League's season ends in early November. Another difference is that there isn't as many teams in the Japanese League. There are about 12. In the Major Leagues there are 30.

The Major Leagues use a 5 man pitching rotation, which means that a pitcher will start once every 5 days. In the Japanese League they use a 6 man rotation. This means that the Major League pitchers play more. It shows how much stronger they are than Japanese pitchers, and how they have more endurance. This was proved this past season with the Red Sox and Daisuke Matsuzaka. He came over from the Japanese League during the offseason. He got very tired towards the end of the season. He had pitched a lot less over in Japan. He would have pitched a lot better if Japan had a longer season and went to a 5 man rotation.
